ABOUT
I'm a midwife and health visitor with a grown up family and a bit more time on my hands now. I indulge my love of sewing and feel truly privileged to be trusted with such precious and irreplaceable items to create unique personal keepsakes.
Creating memory keepsakes all started when I wanted to make a blanket for the babies to sit on in my developmental clinic at work. I was soon asked to make some blankets out of baby clothing, the bears and cushions soon followed. I love the creativity that comes with making the most of each item I'm sent, by choosing just the right section of fabric for each pattern piece.
I remember the first keepsake bear I made from the clothing of a beloved grandad that had passed away; I actually make more keepsakes now for bereaved families than anything else. When my own dad passed away, of course I made bears for myself and my family. My bear sits on the windowsill in my sewing room so I get to see him every day. I talk to him all the time and he often gets a cuddle, so I totally get how special and comforting they are.
It's just me here, sewing in between working, so you can be sure everything is totally personal.

PRODUCTS
I can make a keepsake memory bear from as little as one adult sized item of clothing. I would need a minimum of 6 items of small baby clothing. There are 23 pattern pieces in each bear, so the more items you send, the more I can use and the more memories you will have.
As well as keepsake memory bears, I have also made rabbits, lions, unicorns, elephants and dogs. If you have anything in particular in mind, please send me a message and I'll let you know if it's possible - I have lots of soft toy patterns waiting to be used.
In addition to the soft toys, I also make memory keepsake cushions and quilts.
Quilts can be made to any size. Standard sizes are listed in my shop, but again if you have any particular requirements please get in touch.
